Progressive side wagers: Casino games like Caribbean Stud Poker commonly have one of these. You typically place a wager (a dollar is the normal amt.) to attempt to win a bonus jackpot that can be upwards of $25,000. Although huge jackpots like this are particularly alluring, they are also incredibly difficult to win. You would need to get a Royal Flush in order to win this wager. Also, imagine this- you wager 20 hands and lay the side wager every time. That is 20 dollars you should have used towards the actual game wager in place of a sucker bet. Just think about what you might have been able to win at a bet with better odds employing that 20 dollars.
Single number wagers in Roulette: This is particularly true for American Roulette. Why? American Roulette has two 0’s on the wheel, unlike European Roulette, which has just 1. This shifts the overall casino edge from twopercent with one zero wheel to a whopping five% in American. The single number bet has just a one in 38 chance of winning, which are very big odds indeed. Bet on even-odd or black-red wagers as a substitute which have a much smaller house advantage.
Keno: Any variation of Keno, and regardless of how you wager on it, the house advantage can be a whopping twenty-five percent. No, that isn’t a error. Because of the large amount of numbers you have to pick, it’s not recommended to bet on Keno very much. A number of times for fun, maybe. But do not spend all your cash on it or you will immediately discover yourself beaten.
